Carlisle EU Referendum debate this evening
I attended, with my son, a debate in Trinity School Carlisle this evening about the EU referendum chaired by John Stevenson MP.
It was a lively, reasonably well-attended and polite debate in which the strong views obviously felt by most of the people present never spilled into discourtesy towards the other people present.
Interestingly the straw poll taken at the end was practically a dead heat - I'm always careful about reading too much into that sort of evidence but I think the prospect of a very close vote on Thursday is very real.
