Today's "Saturday Chataway" in Ravenglass

Today was Trudy Harrison's first constituency surgery since the tragic assassination of Sir David Amess. It was held in the Parish Hall at Ravenglass this morning and had been publicised in the village.

Like all MPs, Trudy Harrison, MP for Copeland, has to strike a balance between the wish to be available to listen to the concerns of her constituents and the need to conduct surgeries in a way which is safe for everyone involved - for the MP, for the MP's staff and for the constituents attending.

For this reason the surgery was by appointment only. Besides Trudy Harrison it was attended by three local councillors including myself.

The event was however successful and Trudy was able to listen to the concerns of a number of constituents.

The next such event will be held in early December. Contact Trudy Harrison's iffice if you would like to make an appointment to attend.
