Helping the self-employed

From today, self-employed workers who were eligible for government support during the pandemic can apply for a second and final grant, helping to protect jobs and incomes as we continue our economic recovery from coronavirus.

  • Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have taken unprecedented action to support jobs and incomes, including providing £7.8 billion in grants to support self-employed workers.

  • From today, applications for a second and final grant will open, meaning self-employed workers can apply for a second grant covering 70 per cent of their average monthly trading profits, capped at £6,570 in total.

  • Self-employed workers are the backbone of our economy, and we will continue to do whatever it takes to support those who work for themselves to get back on track and trading.
