Delivering for Britain promptly

To speed up the delivery of major public projects, the government has today announced the creation of a new Acceleration Unit, which will speed up the delivery of transport projects across our nation as we build back better from COVID-19.

  • As the UK begins to get moving again, we must ensure that we are driving those much needed infrastructure projects at a pace our country deserves – creating jobs and levelling-up across all corners of the UK.

  • This new team of specialists will make sure projects stay on time, tackling delays and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects. The creation of this Unit comes alongside a £360 million investment in our roads and railways which will help drive our economic recovery from coronavirus – ensuring we build back better, greener and faster in the future.

  • The plan is to accelerate Britain’s recovery by investing in vital infrastructure that will help get businesses back on their feet, create jobs to replace those that have been lost and ensure that businesses across all corners of the UK have the opportunities they need to grow.
