Watch out for ice and snow if you have reason to be out today

None of us should leave home unless we have an essential reason as described in the latest special legislation approved yesterday by parliament - e.g. to seek healthcare, to work if one is an essential worker who cannot work from home, to get food.

But if you do have to go outdoors, watch out for ice and snow.

I just had a legitimate reason to visit West Cumberland hospital: just going out to the car the ground was treacherous and it took a while to completely clear ice off the car windows so that it was safe to drive.

If you have an essential reason to go outside, please take care; otherwise please
